What I doI work for the UK Government as a Civil Service Fast Streamer on the Digital and Technology Fast Stream.
Digital services and technology are transforming the ways that citizens access government services. I rotate between departments - developing digital policy, systems and processes, and exploring the use of the latest technology, to build user-centric government services. Prior to this, I was a Policy Adviser in the Cabinet Office's Government Property Unit, I worked on the cross-departmental strategy to transform the government's £1.3billion per year* office estate so it becomes more efficient, fit-for-purpose and modern. This invaluable experience of government's inner working taught me how to build consensus and drive transformational change. I graduated from Durham University in 2012 with a First Class Honours degree in Music. My academic study, along with 18 months subsequent experience as a professional composer for film and television, positioned me with a unique, people-focused perspective when solving problems and developed my collaborative approach to iterative design. VolunteeringI volunteer with FAST, a project based in south-west London that equips young people to positively contribute to the transformation of their own lives, families and community.
